You call the crisis line number for the advocacy center and are shocked when a man answers the phone. It didn’t occur to you that a man might answer the line, but how would you know if a man worked there or not?

The man seems very kind, but you don’t give him a lot of information. He helps you come up with a safety plan for the rest of the day. You get off the phone quickly and head home.
