Becca Webster ~ ABUSE HAPPENS – Card #4

You are awakened by loud voices in the living room. You suddenly recognize one of the voices and a shiver runs through your body.

You don’t know what to do so you hide in your closet, but you can still hear it. Chad is talking loudly, demanding your mother let him talk to you. You hear Tyler running down the hall as your mother yells at Chad, telling him she will call the police if he doesn’t leave. When Tyler gets to the door Chad finally leaves.

Tyler and your mom are worried sick asking what that was all about. You are crying and very upset, you feel so ashamed and embarrassed. You are trying to calm you down not knowing what to say. Finally, you are able tell them everything that has happened up to that point.

They are both furious. Tyler wants to go find Chad and grabs his coat. Your mom stops him and says, “No, I am calling the police”. You tell her you have already been to the police. But your mom insists.
